ome with us now to those wonderful days of yesteryear, to the mythical town of Bonita City, a place that knows no zip code and is still a long way off from cellphone reception. Bonita City is generally a quiet, tranquil place during the heat of the day. Nothing much is going on except for the sounds coming from the Flying J chuckwagon where Cookie is working on the biscuit dough, getting that barbque chicken and beef ready... and the ever-present sound of the bubbling, boiling, cheapest pinto beans we could find.
Starting at 6 o'clock (Monday through Saturday) Bonita City comes alive with the hussle and bussle of merchants opening up the sweet shop, gift shops and, of course...the Flying J Ranch Box Office.
There's a flurry of activity along Main Street between 6 and 7:20 p.m. That's when everybody comes to Bonita City. The kids are lining up for two-dollar pony rides. From babes to big boys, the cowpokes (and pokettes) mount up for a supervised stroll through the wilderness surrounding Bonita City.
There's gunfire! Not to worry, it's coming from the Bonita City pistol range where kids of all ages are trying out their skills. Nearby are horseshoe pits and gold panning, making for a pleasant evening....
BUT WAIT...
Two witful warriors of the west are stumbling down Main Street looking for trouble! It's James and Will, and they're up to no good! There's gunfire and mirth, and the Sheriff of Bonita City (cheer-cheer) is called to the rescue.
Not paying much heed to the warning, Will and James rob the bank, and kidnap the teller. The tragedy that follows is mostly in the script writing. You're going to have to will yourself not to laugh. Bring your camera!
The dinner bell rings just after the gunfight. The Wranglers will be in the ranch house serving up a genuine chuckwagon dinner including your choice of beef or chicken in a special Flying J sauce, beans, baked potato, chunky applesauce, biscuit, butter, jelly, spice cake, coffee, tea, lemonade. Nobody goes away from the Flying J table hungry! There are extra helpings, especially of our signature homemade biscuits, until all the food is gone!
Soon more coffee is being served and then the Flying J Wranglers take the stage for an hour of great music and good clean family-styled laughs. Settle back. Get ready to laugh, cry and cheer. There's nothing quite like the Flying J Wranglers. It's an experience you'll come back for again and again.
