OPEN SUMMER NIGHTS...Memorial Day weekend thru Labor Day weekend....

The Flying J Wranglers were founded 24 years ago by rhythm guitarist (and gour tenor) James Hobbs, whose grandfather founded the New Mexico city of Hobbs (we're not making this up).

James is an accomplished singer and songwriter whose work is widely recognized for lovely sentiments and gentle lyricism.  His picturesque ballad “Song of New Mexico,” listed by the Academy of Western Artists as one of the top ten Western Songs in the 1990’s, has twice been nominated by state legislators to be the official state song.

James’ wife Cindy, the Wrangler’s main vocalist, is distinguished by her powerful and beautiful three-octave voice. She is a Western Style Female National Yodeling Champion and has been nominated twice as Best Female Vocalist of the Year by the Academy of Western Artists.

James plays the part of "James" in the Bonita City gunfight and will most likely be serving you your portion of BBQ chicken or beef.

Master of Ceremonies and acoustic bass guitarist Roy Black previously performed with the Timberline Band and has entertained as 'emcee,' bass player and vocalist at America's Music Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona and at the Las Vegas Maxim Hotel, Aladdin Hotels and Sam’s Town.

Roy was raised on a ranch near El Paso and presently raises horses north of Capitan, N.M.

Roy plays the part of the Sheriff of Bonita City (remember to cheer for the Sheriff) and is the Ranch's number one greeter.

One writer described Roy as, "an acoustic bass guitarist, vocalist and true cowpoke."

We wouldn't have it any other way!

Multi-instrumentalist Randy Jones, a virtuoso on guitar, mandolin, banjo and dobro, is also a strong vocal performer who many in the area remember from his 15-year career with the "Moon Pie Dance Band" of El Paso, Texas. The band was a regional favorite.

Corinna Ripple

A native of Santa Rosa, Ca., Corinna grew up with music in the household.

Picking up the fiddle at the early age of nine, Corinna began taking classical lessons, while also learning fiddle tunes and exploring the style of traditional fiddling. As her love for music grew she began to take lessons from Ed Neff, bluegrass fiddler and mandolin player for Vern Williams.

Attending the Santa Rosa Junior College, Corinna played second violin for the college's orchestra for three years.

In the fall of 2006, Corinna attended South Plains College in Levelland, Tx., majoring in Commercial music. There she has worked in the studio, played in the televised Classic Country show: Country Jukebox, led by Rusty Hudelson, as well as playing in bluegrass ensembles led by Alan Munde.

Since coming to SPC she has gotten to work with musicians outside of South Plains College. She is currently playing fiddle for the Flying J Ranch while also sitting in for Lawless Flatz, a local Country band based in Sweetwater, Tx.
